November 9, 2001:

WEBPAGE, WHAT WEBPAGE?: Hey guys. Dry spells are frustrating. I know. And my webpage apathy as of late has had less to do with Hanson's musical apathy than you'd think. I'm 21 years-old. I'm graduating from college in less than six months. Those holy-crap-I-need-to-be-a-grownup-now heebie jeebies are creeping up. That swimmy, bend-in-the-road feeling has been pressing hard. When I graduate, will I close BAB? I don't know. To me, college and this page have been parallel universes. They exist together, and for good reason. One allows me time to do the other. I knew that when those two universes split apart, I'd have trouble maintaining this page. And they have. And I am.

But, that being said, giving up BAB seems stupidly out of the question. Somwhere inside me there will always be, for whatever illogical reason, the desire to write about Those Boys and Their Music. Both seem to spur my creative instincts in weidrly productive ways. OK. Fine. Yes. Beat me with a corny stick. They inspire me. Now shut up and leave me and my Lisa Frank-colored Hanson feelings alone. And somehow, even when those boys are sitting around waiting for their record to be produced, picking their teeth and and hanging out with their girlfriends, they manage to be good fodder for overwrought analysis and social commentary. Well, maybe just Taylor. So sure, this page will be updated in the future. I might morph it into something else. I might invite other writers on board. I might make the whole affair less totalitarian than it is now. If you have any ideas, let me know. I'm here. I check my e-mail occasionally. I'd love to hear from you.

HOLY WOW: Have you seen the latest issue of PULP? My God, it's almost as pretty as Taylor. (And just as cheap... har dee har...) PULP, unlike BAB, has indeed felt new and exciting and worth putting time into, especially after this last issue. Who knows? Maybe the new home for BAB is offline.

FREAK OF THE WEEK: Spending money. Travel. Go to New York. Get on airplanes. Go to restaurants. Shop. Go to see Broadway shows. (OK... support theater wherever you are, just because a) it's a good thing to do, b) it'll make you a better person, and c) because it's just fun.) Go to movies. Buy magazines. Books. Shut off CNN.
